Mary Lou Jepsen's Art

Mary Lou Jepsen’s current work is a combination of high and low tech. She has created a series of truly organic and biological everyday glassware entitled “You are what you eat”, inspired by her studies of the human neuro-endocrine system.  She will also be showing a collection of 24 paint by numbers kits that she created jointly with John Ryan.  Some featured pieces from "You are what you eat" and the paint by numbers collection are shown below.

Mary Lou has PhD in Optics, BA in Art, and BS in Electrical Engineering all from Brown University.  She also has an MS in Visual Studies from the MIT Media lab. She was an invited senior fellow at the Kunsthochschule fur Medien Köln (Academy of Media Arts - Cologne).  She made her first hologram at age 18 and dove headlong into making holograms for the next decade, contributing to several important artistic and technical innovations in the field during the 80s and 90s.  During the last decade she has made some widely recognized contributions to video projection and microdisplay technologies.  For more info about that refer to www.joeinc.tv
